The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross blood program!

GROWING IN FAITH
St. Francis of Assisi: Sign of Contradiction
. He is one of the most beloved saints in the world, but do we really know him? When the world saw him as a fool, he stood as a sign of contradiction. Francis was a person who, like us, searched for purpose and meaning and was oftentimes left empty. It wasn’t until he encountered Christ that his darkness and confusion were replaced with light and peace.
Confirmation Parent Meeting
All parents of confirmation students are invited to a meeting at 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 7, in the church. Information about the new curriculum and calendar of sessions will be shared.

We are in need of 7 small groups leaders to work with our Middle School students on Wednesdays from 6-7pm. As a small group leader, you will lead discussion after the large group presentation, with the discussion questions provided. For more information, please contact Laura Shupe in the Parish Office.
As part of the Synod 2021 process, a virtual 5-part series on praying with Scripture will offer practical tools for growing in holiness, Archbishop Hebda and Bishop Cozzens will teach the fundamentals of praying with Scripture and explain how to use a Prayer Companion resource to enrich your prayer experience. You can participate online and on Facebook and YouTube. Livestreams are on Tuesdays beginning on September 15 at 7pm. Go to
for more information.

October is Respect Life Month. We would normally be getting ready for a baby bottle drive for Pregnancy Choices. Because of COVID-19 they are working under some restrictions and we won't be able to do the drive this year.
This doesn't mean that Pregnancy Choices doesn't need our help. Their needs continue. If you are able to help here are a few options:
Monetary donations are always welcome & appreciated.
Gift Cards donations are also welcome. Ideally, they like $10 gift cards to Target or Walmart so their clients can use them for groceries, diapers, or clothing.
Material donations have some restrictions this year. They are not currently able to accept used items. If you would like to donate clothing, here is a list of needs: fall and winter – all sizes newborn -24 months, complete daytime outfits (shirt and pants or top and skirt, or dresses).
Donations can be brought to the parish office or sent/taken directly to Pregnancy Choices:

The Backpack Project helps provide food for children in need. Each child receives a bag of food for the weekend when they are not receiving meals at school. Our parish helps students at North Trail Elementary.
We provide 23 children at North Trail Elementary School with a bag of food for meals/snacks for the weekend. We are in need of several items: Fruit cups, pudding cups, oatmeal packets and single-serving size bags of potato chips. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Our Lady’s Rosary
Everyone is invited to pick up a blessed rosary on the table in the Gathering Space.
You are invited to take a prayer shawl for anyone that may need or want one.
The prayer shawls, that have been knit or crocheted by parishioners, have been blessed and are available near the library.
